Group rail travel has an entirely separate system from individual tickets. ENR maintains sixteen group booking categories, some with a discount rate stated explicitly in the category name itself.
Categories with a published rate

Two rates for the same type of body means treatment varies by the institution's status or trip type, determined at application.
Social and educational categories
- Orphanage.
- Scout team association — with a separate category for a scout team not registered as an association.
- Children with speech difficulties — a standalone category.
- Youth group.
- Red Cross.

Group reservation fee
Worth knowing: the system includes a standalone group reservation fee. Group booking may therefore carry a processing charge alongside ticket value, as is normal in group reservation systems.
The default category
There is a regular group category with no special status — an ordinary group can book as a group procedurally even without a discount.
