The Egyptian National Railway Authority announced the addition of a new stop for train No. 1004, the third air-conditioned Cairo-Aswan line, at Abotig Station in Assiut Governorate, starting on Saturday, May 23, 2026.
The authority confirmed that the decision comes within a plan to improve train services and facilitate travel for citizens, especially on Upper Egypt lines that are witnessing high densities during the current period.

According to the Authority’s statement, the stop of Train 1004 at Abutig Station will officially begin starting from:
Saturday, May 23, 2026
Train 1004 is the third air-conditioned train on the Cairo-Aswan line, serving a large number of passengers daily.
The authority explained that the addition of the Abutig station comes in response to citizens’ demands and facilitates movement between the governorates of Upper Egypt, as part of a plan to develop railway services and improve the travel experience for passengers.
