The Egyptian National Railway Authority announced the operation of two additional air-conditioned trains on the Upper Egypt and Lower Egypt lines, coinciding with the increased demand for travel during the Eid al-Adha holiday 1447 AH, within the framework of the Ministry of Transport’s plan to reduce crowding and provide additional trips for travelers.
The authority confirmed that the additional trains come to support travel between Cairo, Sohag and Alexandria, while providing additional seats for passengers during the Eid period, especially with the high rates of booking on Upper Egypt lines.
Operation of additional train No. 2270 from Cairo to Sohag
The authority explained that air-conditioned train No. 2270 will operate on the Cairo/Sohag line today, Sunday, May 24, 2026, as it departs from Cairo station at 8:20 p.m., and arrives at Sohag station at 2:45 a.m.

Operation of additional train No. 2271 from Sohag to Alexandria
It was also decided to operate air-conditioned train No. 2271 on the Sohag/Alexandria line tomorrow, Monday, May 25, 2026, as it departs from Sohag station at 4:05 am, and arrives at Alexandria station at 1:30 pm.
