The Egyptian National Railway Authority announced that it had made temporary adjustments to the route movement of some trains on the (Al-Qabbari / Marsa Matrouh) line, against the backdrop of the ongoing construction work for the high-speed electric train project in the Ruwaisat area.
The authority explained that these changes come as a result of rerouting the line in the work area (between kilometer 72/350 and kilometer 74/350), on the night of 24/25 July 2026, and for a period of 5 continuous hours starting from 19:15 pm until 00:15 am.
Details of amending train lines and times
- Train No. 656 (Moharam Bey / El Dabaa): It was decided to shorten the train journey and end at Hammam Station instead of arriving at El Dabaa Station.
- Train No. 943 (Marsa Matrouh / Cairo): It was decided to delay the train’s departure by 30 minutes, so that it will depart from Marsa Matrouh station at 21:30 pm instead of 21:00 pm.
Important notice to passengers: The Egyptian National Railway Authority called on passengers to understand these temporary measures, stressing that they come within the framework of engineering insurance work in the work area in order to achieve the highest rates of safety and security for operating traffic.
